I may have been raw, sore and shell shocked when I got home from the ISAF Mid Year Meeting in Streza, Italy but a quick check on the web told me that I was not the only one.
As I write the petition inviting ISAF to review their decision is past 13000 subscribers and the Facebook Group set up by others has 16,000 followers and climbing.
It was just over 5 years and 6 months ago that the RS:X Class came into existence. In that time the number of countries involved has grown to more than 60 and the equipment tolerances have become second to none
The wind may have been howling and the racing cancelled but in the background there was some important anthropometric checking going on. Thanks to Carmen Vaz who used to sail the Mistral One Design at high level, we now have important data on male and female athlete's racing in the 2012 RS:X World Windsurfing Championships.
After what was one of the windiest RS:X world championships on record, it's time to take stock.
Racing was only possible on 4 of the scheduled seven days with no medal racing for the second time this year. Who would have thought beforehand that we would wake up each morning praying for 15 knots LESS wind...
