The Reach-4-The-Top RS:X Asian Measurement Seminar will take place on December 15th and will be conducted by Bas Edmonds who is the RS:X Class chief measurer.
It will cover all aspects of the RS:X Class Rules, what they mean and how they are applied to the equipment during the measurement process and onwards through a regatta.
The seminar will also touch on the latest thinking as it applies to a piece of equipment that is subject to in-house certification and why the RS:X class is movin towards no pre-regatta measurement at all.
That's right. Next year, 2010, we are doing away with pre-race measurement in favor of having racers register their own serial numbers on line as part of the on line entry process.
Whilst new entries will not be accepted within 14 days of the first racing day, entered racers will be able to register their equipment serial numbers up to 60 mins before the first race.
The list of serial numbers will be posted on the official notice board for all to see and on the event microsites of major championships.
The RS:X Asian Measurement Seminar will start at 0900 hrs in the measurement area of the RS:X Asian Championships. Those wishing to take part should confirm there participation with the LOA [cc bas.edmonds[@]rya.org.uk] as soon as possible.
Accommodation should be booked in the event hotel as described in the Notice of Race.
