COMPETITION IN RIO DE JANEIRO - AUGUST

The Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro is pleased to invite RS:X sailors to take part in the 2013 RS:X ICRJ International Cup between the dates of 11th till 17th August. This will be the only such event in 2013 to be held on the waters of next Olympics! For more information check the NoR. 

2013 RS:X YOUTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - OCTOBER

The 2013 RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championships will take place from 20th-26th October in Civitavecchia, Italy. The Notice of Race will be posted asap.

2013 RS:X ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS - NOVEMBER

The 2013 RS:X Asian Championships will be staged alongside the 2013 Hong Kong Open between the 25th November- 1st December on Stanley Beach, Hong Kong. 

There will be a meeting on 4th July, during 2013 RS:X European and Open Youth European Championships in Brest France, to discuss venues for future RS:X championships. All countries interested in staging RS:X event in next years are invited to send bids to RS:X office to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Last call for entries for the 2013 RS:X European and Open Youth European Championships staged between 1st-7th July in Brest, France. The deadline is 16th June so hurry up!

THRILL AND DRAMA ON LAST DAY!

"The new format experienced in the Eurosaf Champions Sailing Cup with the emphasis put on the last medal race created the expected thrill and drama in the Delta Lloyd regatta in Medemblik.

Five of the earlier leaders have lost top place during the Medal race which have opened the field for the top six boats.

After winning seven races and dominating the RS:X fleet all week, Dorian van Rijsselberge (NED) suffered from a shift at the start of the Medal Race to fall behind the fleet and off the podium.

Pawel Tarnowski wins the RS:X men event after a second place in the Medal race. “I am very happy with my first victory in a RS:X senior event. This is my first season on the senior circuit and hope I can continue doing well at the European next summer. I won over great sailors here, Worlds champions, Gold medallists, this new system allows for all six sailors in the final to win and for me it worked well.”

From this year the Delta Lloyd Regatta is part of the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup together with other big Europeans sailing events like Faglia Vela Riva in Italy, Kieler Woche in Germany, Sail for Gold in Great Britain and Semaine Olympique Francaise in France. The title sponsor Delta Lloyd has committed to another four years, so we can expect contunuity of the event on same hight level.

The 29th edition of Delta Lloyd Regatta is well underway. With 4 days behind and 13 races completed in RS:X class, we are awaiting the Medal Race planned for Saturday. With tight points of the top 6 sailors that will fight for the medals tomorrow it will certainly be an exciting battle.
