LONDON 2012: Marina Takes Gold

marinaalabauv1Marina Alabau [ESP] won gold in the RS:X Women's event
at the Olympic Sailing Regatta. She sailed consitently as
she has done all week to overtake Olga Maslivets [UKR]
on the last downwind. Olga had the best start at the pin
end hitting the line at  full speed and leaving the rest of
the medal race fleet literally standing.

LONDON 2012: Dorian Takes Gold

Dorian Van Rijsselberge (NED) has won gold with two dorian_ned
races to spare in the Men's RS:X event after putting in
an awesome performance that noone else could live with.

Never placing oustide the top 3, the Dutchman won
Race 9 before pulling out of Race 10 having already sewn
up the gold medal. His unassailable 22 point lead cannot be caught.

The race is on for silver. Nick Dempsey (GBR) currently holds second place on 35 points which is 11 ahead of Germany's Toni Wilhelm.

RIO 2016: The RS:X Class seeks a Judicial Review

rsxembossedSince the ISAF Mid Year Meeting and the narrow vote
to deselect windsurfing and the RS:X for the 2016 Olympic
Regatta in Rio de Janeiro, the class has been working on
many levels to get this decision reversed under the direction
of its crisis management group within the Executive Committee

LONDON 2012: It's the beet not the beat


Dorian van Rijsselberge continued his great start
in the Men's RS:X after another race win which was
followed by a third as Nothe spectators were treated
to two RS:X races.

The Dutchman recorded another comprehensive victory
in the third Men's RS:X race but in Race 4 the thousands
of fans watching saw Nick Dempsey (GBR) claw his way
back to win the race on the line ahead of Byron Kokkalanis.

LONDON 2012: Dorian nails the first two BAM BAM


Dorian Van Rijsselberge (NED) took centre stage
in the Men's RS:X as he took two race wins in the
first day of windsurfing at the London 2012 Olympic
Sailing Competition.

The Dutchman blew the field away in both races to
come out of the traps flying. In Race 1 he finished
42 seconds ahead of Przemyslaw Miarczynski (POL)
and in Race 2 the difference was more than one minute.
