RS:X Reach-4-the-Top International Technical Officer

It is all very well spending hard earned funding on the development of racers and their coaches but without properly qualified technical officials the regattas in which they compete will not be managed to a suitable standard.  This is why the class wishes to encourage the development of new young technical officials to ensure the continued development of high level windsurfing competition nationally and internationally.

• Class Measurer
  The class is in need of well trained impartial and competent measurers to act at its national and international regattas round the world so that racers encounter the consistently high  standards of decision making on equipment issues wherever they race and regatta organisers have access to well trained and qualified individuals locally or within their region.
  The class therefore propose to run a series of measurement courses prior to its major regattas based on an established quality-standard.
  For national class measurers who wish to broaden their experience, training and knowledge so that they may act as RS:X championship measurers at class continental and world championships, Successful candidates may qualify as
  - RS:X recognised Class Measurer
  - ISAF International Measurer for the RS:X Class

• Race Officer
  If you are an experienced racer or national race officer who wishes to learn from an established international race manager and race officer, then this is package is for you. You will assist the RS:X Class Race Director at a major championship and learn from his experience. Watch him at work both on shore and on the water. Understand why decisions are made and when.
  This invaluable opportunity look-behind-the-scenes will enhance your own thinking when you step back onto the committee boat at your home club. You will gain knowledge and experience that will give you the confidence to work as a PRO at bigger regattas.
  
  The RS:X Class is keen to develop a new generation of young windsurfing race officers who can officiate at major Olympic Class Championships so please get in touch and we’ll do our best to book you into a major class event near you.
  

• Judge
  For National judges looking to increase their experience internationally, we offer the opportunity for you to observe the international jury at work both on land and on the water. Become accustomed to the necessary process and the essential actions you must take at each step.
  Watch experiences international judges at work during hearings and learn which key questions to ask and when.
