You will be able to use the message centre, the forum, your online calendar and access course resources, in the R4T Members Private Meeting Area on the RS:X Class website.

You will be required to study web-based training modules offered by our partners on such subjects as mental preparation, nutrition and physical training not to mention the essential rules of the game.

The RS:X Class will organise clinics on such essential topics as First Aid, Racing Rules, Rescue Boat Driving and Measurement. These clinics will take place at RS:X World and Continental Championships. You will benefit greatly by attending.

How You Register and What happens Next?

Well, let's get some basic contractual stuff out of the way first shall we?

• The minimum length of time you can sign up for is ONE YEAR during which time you will be paying a monthly fee by bank transfer to the RS:X Class.

• The RS:X Reach-4-the-Top Training Programmes are a NOT-FOR-PROFIT intiative so you are being asked to pay the absolute minimum possible fees

• If you abuse your privileged access to the RS:X Reach Reach-4-the-Top Members Private Meeting Area in any way, your access will be blocked. Your contract will be terminated and you will have to pay for one full year as stated in the contract.

Becoming a good coach does not happen overnight. It requires a life-time of experience and study.  By enrolling in the RS:X Reach-4-the-Top Racing Coach programme, you will fast-track your learning and success

However, we want to be up front with you and we expect the same from you. Your committment to work hard is essential. As a  coach, you will hold a privileged position in the life of an athlete. A position of trust. He or she will rely on your ability to be discrete....

4 Stages before you can start work

Stage 1: First Contact
Send us an e-mail and confirm your wish to enrol on the RS:X Reach-4-the-Top Racing Coach Programme. Don't forget to give us your Skype address so that we can call you! Don't worry if English is not your first lanaguage but please realise that you will have to have a good command of English to be an effective coach internationally

Stage 2: Telephone Interview
Using Skype, we will contact you so that we can assess your current level and the time that you have to devote to your studies. We will then forward to you the participant's contract so that you can sign it and arange the necessary payments either through a transfer from your bank

Stage 3: Access to the RS:X Reach Reach-4-the-Top Members Private Meeting Area
By now your first payment should have been received with your authorisation of the contract so we will give you access to the RS:X Reach Reach-4-the-Top Members Private Meeting Area and its message centre, the forum, your online calendar and access course resources

Stage 4: Customised Course Content
We will design a personalised distance learning study plan for you to follow based on the core syllabus. Together we will work out a mutually agreed schedule of major international regattas for you to attend (at your own expense) as an assistant to one of our coaches leading the RS:X Reach-4-the-Top Regatta Support Programme or where we will be presenting RS:X Class Clinics

Your on-line theoretical studies will be supported by us through RS:X Reach Reach-4-the-Top Members Private Meeting Area. You can log on. Check out the forum. See what RS:X Clinics are coming up and where. Send us a question using the message centre and check out what's new.

Your progresson will be subject to a quarterly review. Either online through Skype or face-to-face at class championship you are attending.

Our aim is to develop your theoretical and practical knowledge so you can coach athletes in a scientific and professional manner.

The quarterly review will assess how you are getting on.  Find out what challenges you are facing. Together, we can then adjust the programme accordingly and move on.

As we said right at the beginning, no recognised windsurfing coaching qualification currently exists. Indeed no windsurfing coaching course existed before the RS:X Reach-4-the-Top Racing Coach Programme.
