So at 1000hrs the fleets were called out for an early start. The wind was maxing out at 10 knots. The men started first. David LaVela (ITA 69) and Ludomil Sawicki (POL200) were the first to show at the front of the fleet at the top mark with Piotr Nowacki (POL 722) not far behind.
In fact the Polish Team were out in force. Piotr Myszkowski (POL 4), Jacek Piasecki (POL013) and Mateusz Hoppe (POL41) were all in contention. Thiseas Kambas (GRE3) was doing his best to stay up with the leading group but finding that he was cramping up due to de-hydration and lacking in power.
When they came into the slalom end there would be no further changes to this order
1. David LaVela (ITA 69)
2. Ludomil Sawicki (POL200)
3. Piotr Nowacki (POL 722)
4. Piotr Myszkowski (POL 4)
5. Jacek Piasecki (POL013)
6. Mateusz Hoppe (POL41)
7. Thiseas Kambas (GRE3)
