After a morning playing cards and waiting for the breeze to fill in the
RS:X fleets were finally called out to race in conditions that were
challenging to say the least.
Dutch Champion, Dorian van Rijsselberge (NED) had this to say...“I have not seen conditions so unstable, the wind went right and left and up and down. In the second race I ended up in a hole in the middle and rounded the top mark in 30th position. These conditions also gave me opportunities to catch up and finally finish fifth!”
Dorian leads from JP Tobin (NZL) who despite the difficult conditions put in two consistent results (3-8).
Over in the RS:X Women's fleet, it is Mayaan Davidovich (ISR) who leads the fleet from Jessica Crisp (AUS) just one point behind. These two are now fightimng their owm private battle. 3rd placed, Li Ling (CHN) is 15 points back in the peleton where there are 5 sailors separated by just 4 points.
With a chance of rain today and generally overcast conditions, things could get interesting
