The girls started first and it was Hong Kong's Victoria Chan (HKG 5) who was the fastest out of the blocks. She won both races by a margin. Behind her, her compatriot Sonia Lo (HKG8) was also consistent putting in a 3rd and 2nd to finish the day in second place overall. 2 points back in 3rd overall is Maja Dziarnowska (POL 7).
Laura Linares (ITA 11) was pushed down to 4th overall. When, having locked horns with Paulina Radwanska (POL 2) in the second race of the day, she sailed an extra lap and therefore finished 9th. It is extremely difficult to keep count of the number of laps you have done whilst in a close fought battle for the lead. Heart rates can be as high as 180 beats per minute!
The wind is forecast to stay in for the next two days so the planing specialists should take the opportunity to build a points cushion whilst they can. The final 3 days are likely to be raced in displacement conditions.
