The waters are well protected and there is a long sandy beach adjoing the yacht marina and club. Self catering accommodation and camping can be found at the far end of the beach.

The two key organisers are Flemming Cold and Henrik Møhl who are taking advantage of this year's RS:X Open Nordic Windsurfing Championship and 29er EuroCup to test all their systems and give the volunteers the opportunity to build up the necessary experience. They will also be taking key members of their team as observers to this year's edition of the RS:X World Windsurfing Championships in Weymouth.

The support of the SuperBrugsen, Føtex, and Odense Marzipan plus Zenitel, Volvo and Harboe Brewers has allowed the organisers to stage many social activities.  Kerteminde Municipality has invited the participating windsurfers and  29er crews to a welcome reception  on Thursday evening. On Friday evening, everyone will get together for a BBQ. Everyday the organisers will provide lunch and, after racing,  a light meal. Those with energy to spare can take part in a Beach Volley tournament.
