Summary of the qualification stage

The qualification races have been completed today with four races completed out of the six races planned.

The Championship’s Sailing Instructions declare:

“8.4 The Reserve Day may be used for racing but only to achieve completion of 4 races for each fleet. When the reserve day is used 3 races will be scheduled.

8.5 Qualifying Series will consist of a maximum of 6 races and a minimum of 4 races, sailed for a minimum of 2 days or as long as necessary for both fleets to complete 4 races.”

Due to these rules, the rest day, tomorrow, couldn’t be used to add the two missed races due to the wind conditions, causing much disappointment to competitors that hoped their worse race result will be discarded after would have five races been completed.

Even now, as the wind condition forecast for the coming days is not promising, in under statement, it will be hard to improve one’s rating if more than one result spoils it, as only one result will be discarded from the total points after the fifth race.
